Class Levels

NO_knee_fold.jpgBeg /Level 1 – This course is for complete beginners. Designed to teach the Pilates technique incorporating rehab-type exercises for core stability and motor control. It provides the foundation for other courses providing anatomyical information for movement.

Level 2 - improver. Pilates preparation exercises to­ begin to develop core strength and endurance. In this course we refine technique and add more exercises to the repertoire.

Level 3
- intermediate. Pilates for those who have mastered the basics and want more challenging exercises. In these classes we increase loading and add more complex co-ordination.

Level 4/5
- advanced. Pilates for those who have completed an intermediate course and want to work with the more choreographed flowing movement sequences. More emphasis is placed on upper body strength and pushing away from the mat using more of the classical mat exercises.


NO_hawkins.jpgC4D – dance conditioning classes based on a mixture of the Franklin Method and Pilates. Equivalent to L4 Pilates. Taught using Imagery and other contemporary movement methods. Emphasis is placed on learning to initiate movement from a given structure and some dance improvisation.
